Na última gala dos MTV Video Music Awards a Miley Cyrus, que recebeu novamente o prémio para o melhor vídeo do ano, mandou subir para o palco o Jesse, um jovem de 22 anos sem abrigo de Oregon, que agradeceu em seu nome e aproveitou aquela oportunidade única e uma audiência fabulosa para lançar o apelo por uma causa.
